Wait. I think Alicia Keys screwed that up. “These legs are on fireeeee!”
Tonight I made the last minute decision to head to a barre class. It was rainy and miserable for the millionth time this summer. (My running club was canceled again. I’m starting to feel like evening runs were just doomed from the beginning. We might be moving them to mornings. We shall see!) Anyway, I ended up being cooped up in the house all day with the cutest boy I know. We made it out for about a 20 minute walk, but that wasn’t even close to enough activity for either of us. I felt like if I didn’t get out of the house, I was going to lose my mind.
Actually, come to think of it, I might have already lost it. I filled Maddux’s water table up and let him play inside. It started innocently enough, but soon it turned into total anarchy. He splashed water everywhere, filled a cup up and took it somewhere (still unsure about that one), and put every single thing he could find into the water. I have yet to clean up the mess. I figured I’ll probably just cave and let him do it again tomorrow. I’ve given up.
One barre class later and my mind and sanity have been restored. For now. That’s what I love most about working out. Even though it feels like absolute torture at times, it can still be a mental break. Three cheers for getting your butt movin’!
I have a post planned in my head weighing the pros and cons (from my personal perspective) of all of the different classes and workouts I’ve been trying lately. But before I type it up, I’d really like to hear your thoughts.
What are your favorite classes and workouts and what are your least favorites? For instance, if you’re a runner, what is your favorite way to cross train? If you’re a new mom, what workout makes you feel the best? You get the point. I really want to understand why people choose the different ways of working out that they do. I know why I do, but it would be really interesting to see if my thoughts line up with others! Thanks in advance!
