In two days, Hudson will be nine months old. Nine. Before I go cry into a pillow, I had better get to work. I have two days to post his 8 and 9 month update if I want to get back on track. Fine, fine. That will never happen. The only thing I got right this past month was taking the picture when he actually turned 8 months. I’ll take it. Here we are almost a month later and I’m finally posting the update. Mom of the year!
Likes: Hudson’s favorite thing in the whole word is to be around tons of people. He is our little social butterfly and will lay on the charm if he catches someone looking in his direction. He also loves anything involving his brother, chewing on books (and anything else he can get his hands on), playing with anything that doesn’t belong to him, and being outside. He literally yells at me if I walk inside with him, so I guess he likes being a little bossy, too. Maybe he’s more like his big brother than I originally thought.
Dislikes: His only real grumpiness lately is when he’s tired. Other than that, things only mildly irritate him. He gets over things quickly, especially if you get him laughing. I love his little chuckle!
Sleeping: Sleep is hit or miss these days. Thank you, teething. He wakes up anywhere between 0 and 3,792 times a night. His bed time is around 7 pm and he wakes up around 6 or 7 in the morning. That’s about the only predictable thing. The rest is a crap shoot. Same thing with naps, because I think he’s about to move from three to two. Transitions are rough, but he’s hanging in there.
Eating: He eats four times a day now. It’s usually around 7 am, 11 am, 3 pm, and 7 pm. He has solids in between, but I’m not sure how much he actually ingests. Judging by his hair, I’d say at least 50% ends up on top of his head and behind his ears. How does he even do that?
Playing: It seems like every month I look back and realize he wasn’t all that mobile before, even though it seemed like he was at the time. While his primary mode of transportation is still army crawling, he is so much faster now. It’s scary how quickly he can get into things! He loves chasing his brother around, knocking things over and just generally being destructive, splashing in the bath, and going for walks outside. His new tricks are waving to literally anything that moves and mimicking noises.
Teeth: His bottom two teeth have officially appeared, and I’m pretty sure the top two will poke through by the time he turns 9 months old. The bad part about teething a bit late is that they come in back-t0-back. Poor kid.
Firsts: This month marked his first Disney trip, which means there were a ton of other firsts built in to the trip. He got to meet Mickey, play at a water park, hop on some rides, use public transportation, stay out until almost 10 pm (my bad), and tons of other things he’ll never remember.
