Yesterday flew by, and nothing particularly exciting happened. Sounds thrilling, right?
I ate some yogurt. I’d like to call this Kroger concoction a sugar bomb. After I realized my teeth would fall off I ate the whole thing, I gave the rest to Ryne to eat on the way to the golf course. Because, ya know, it’s okay for me to ruin his teeth.
I went for a somewhat hilly run later on. At two in the afternoon. I pushed as hard as I could. What was I thinking? It was absolutely disgusting outside. I was drenched after 15 minutes. Ridiculous. I mentioned this the other day, but the humidity is out of control. It’s impossible for me to really enjoy a run when all I can think about is how thick the air is. It was like I was eating pudding as I ran. Which sounds awesome in theory. It actually sucked a little, though. I had to stop to catch my breath after mile one!
I ran in my moms neighborhood while she went for a quick swim with Maddux. When I got back, we played in the pool for a bit before we put him down for a nap. Then I got to rehydrate and relax. Fabulous.
Oh, I also dug through my old baby books to see what I was up to at Maddux’s age. I was a shrimp compared to him!
After we went home and cleaned up, my aunt and grandma came over to watch Maddux. Ryne and I finally got to go out and celebrate our anniversary. One of my students gave me a Bonefish gift card and Ryne had a coupon for a free Bang Bang shrimp, so we really didn’t have to think too long before deciding where to go.
Margaritas = Marvelous.
People hate selfies. I used to hate them, too. Now I’m addicted. Please send help. I think part of the fun of them is seeing other people’s reactions, specifically Ryne. He cringes every single time.
So of course I had to turn the tables and take a few of him. I’m such an awesome wife.
The love of my life. (No I didn’t mean to put that with Ryne’s picture. ;))
For my entree I chose the scallops and shrimp in pan asian sauce with lemon quinoa and asparagus. The quinoa was supposed to have feta in it, I believe. I’m still pretty upset about it.
It was so fun to get out just the two of us, but we ended up coming home by 8:30. I know. We are so thug for that. I swear we never make it to sunset anymore, haha. We ended up coming home and watching the show “What Would You Do?” Does anyone else watch that? I’m obsessed. I literally say “OMG, Ryne, wouldn’t I do something in that situation? You know I would! Yes, I would! Whatever.” like a million times. It’s must be so fun for him to watch it with me.
Today, a whole lot more nothing happened. I don’t know where the time went! I’m not sure what we’re doing tonight, but I hope Ryne rents a movie on his way home from golfing. Yes, that means he golfed twice this weekend. I’m so glad Father’s Day weekend is only once a year. 😉
Question: When it is hot/humid outside, do you suck it up and run anyway? I know I should be running in the morning, but that is logistically impossible most days. I’m scared to run at night (wimp) and I’m kind of against the treadmill these days. Any tips for running in the heat?
