Can I be completely and totally honest here? I really didn’t want this to turn into a pregnancy blog. However, for the time being, that seems to be exactly what is happening. I have intentions each week of posting recipes, “workouts” (does walking to the bathroom 10 times during the night count?), and other usual Run Pretty topics… it just never happens. It seems like I just come home and crash every day after work. I worked my biceps and back two days ago while still wearing dress pants. I’m that lazy. I guess it was good that I actually did something, but I find it hilarious I didn’t have the energy to change clothes.
Anyway, today marks 33 weeks for Baby M! I honestly can’t believe we are 7 weeks (or maybe even less!) away from meeting him. We get to see his sweet little face next month. That is so soon. It’s one of those “ohmygoshslowdown”/ “ohmygoshspeedup” moments in life. So exciting!
What is baby up to? According to MSN Health, “In these last few weeks before delivery, the billions of developed neurons in your baby’s brain are helping him or her to learn about the in-utero environment — your baby can listen, feel, and even see somewhat. Your baby’s eyes can detect light and the pupils can constrict and dilate in response to light. Like a newborn, your baby sleeps much of the time and even experiences the rapid eye movement (REM) stage, the sleep stage during which our most vivid dreams occur! Your baby’s lungs are almost completely matured. Fat will continue to be deposited on your baby’s body for protection and warmth. Babies gain a good deal of their weight in the final few weeks before birth.” I wonder if he dreams about me as much as I dream about him? 🙂
Total Weight Gain: I officially gained 32 pounds by 32 weeks, so I’m guessing I gained another pound this week. I still can’t believe I’m gaining so much, but I guess it’s needed!
My Body: I actually feel a little smaller than last week, but not in a good way. Everything is even tighter, which I didn’t think was physically possible. I’m going to bust! Still no changes when it comes to stretch marks, my bellybutton, or swelling… so nothing much to report. My back aches constantly, and I feel like I look like this all the time:
It’s a good look, right? But seriously, I waddle and bend like that all the time. I hope I don’t always make that face, though. Yikes.
Maternity Clothes: I bought a new dress (non-maternity) and tank top (maternity) for our maternity photos this weekend. I hope my skin, body, and hair behave that day!
Cravings: Ice water… In a very major way! It’s like it actually has a taste to it right now. The cold temperature helps, too!
Baby Items Bought/Received: More nursery things! I think it is coming together so well. It should be pretty much complete by our maternity session this weekend, so I’ll share after that.
Best Baby Moment: Ryne said he had a dream about the baby. I think it’s the first official time I looked at him and realized he is going to be a father soon. Does that sound ridiculous or what? Obviously, he’s going to be a dad… I just hadn’t really pictured him as one yet. So sweet!
Goals: Same as last week… basically get all the loose ends tied up! Birth plans, hospital bags, etc… I’ve put it all off yet again!
Worries: Everything and nothing at the same time. It’s like I’m freaking out about the details, but I also know that everything will be just fine. Such a weird feeling.
