Happy National Running Day! I may or may not run this evening, and that’s 100% okay with me. I realized last year that actively participating in a single holiday doesn’t make or break me as a runner. Such a freeing thought, right?
That being said, I will celebrate one way or the other. Yep, I’ve totally been wasting my time brainstorming how I might take part, especially if I don’t actually get any miles in. Here are my favorites:
Top 5 Ways to Celebrate National Running Day
1.) Go for a run. I mean, this one is pretty obvious, right? Just promise me you’ll freaking love it. No pressuring yourself for certain times or any of that mess.
2.) Take a walk. I know it’s not running, but hear me out. If you can’t run, go for a stroll. Fresh air is always a good thing, in my opinion.
3.) Sign up for a future race. You know you want to, so go ahead and do it. Plan that race-cation you’ve always wanted to take. Make it happen.
4.) Browse your old race photos. If they look anything like mine, be fully prepared to laugh and cry at the same time. Oh, memories.
5.) Take someone out running for their first time, and have a blast. The love of running is contagious. Spread it.
I know there are a million possibilities, so what are you waiting for? Let’s get this party started. 😉
Question: How are you celebrating? If you’re not a runner, that’s totally cool. Celebrate your favorite hobby today, too. The more the merrier!
