It’s FRIDAY! I’m just popping in real quick to explain why I will never in a million years quit coffee. I realize that’s a very strong statement, but I’m pretty sure it’s 100% true. You see, this morning I wanted to accomplish nothing. In fact, the only reason I got dressed was to take my child to school. Change “discuss” to “do” and you have me explained in one sentence.
I had a cup of coffee at home and a little bit of espresso and a ton of sugar and syrup at Starbucks. I went the entire month of July without getting anything there, so I had to celebrate on August 1st. Obviously.
I was jacked up and ready to roll. Instead of driving home and wasting time, I drove straight to my classroom and got to work. It looked like this when I got there.
I forgot to take a picture when I left, but it’s ready for kids now! Well, besides curtains because I haven’t sprayed them with fire retardant yet. Gotta follow the rules, y’all.
Moving on. Here’s the crowning achievement of the day: I MOWED OUR LAWN. I know, I know. That’s what millions of other people do each day, too. I’ve gone 26 years without ever trying, though.
Excuse our halfway grown-in sod. One day it will grow into real grass, right? Anyway, the point is, I tried something new and I didn’t whine about it (much). Our lawn mower’s self-propelling thingy is broken, so it was actually a little harder than I thought it was going to be. But it meant that I got my workout in for the night, so I’m pretty excited about that.
And this ends the most pointless, self-congratulatory post of my life. What was your biggest accomplishment of the day?
