Thanks for the sweet comments on my last post. I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets the blues out of nowhere. Well, actually, I wish none of us ever felt that way! I took a few days to “recoup” in hopes that just relaxing would make me feel better. Not much help. Then yesterday I realized what I needed to do. I needed to sweat. How did I forget that running cheers me up? Sometimes the answer is the most obvious one, ya know? Running wasn’t the only highlight of my day, though.
First, I made his and hers breakfast. Ryne basically had a plate of bacon with a side of fried eggs. Gotta love him. I had scrambled eggs with broccoli and tomato, topped with sriracha. Best breakfast in a while. Oh, and we both had a ton of coffee. Okay, fine, he had one cup and I finished the pot. It’s been a rough couple of nights lately. I think we have a teether on our hands. He’s almost 6 months, he should be getting a tooth soon, right? Once again, I’m trusting you guys with all my medical questions. 🙂
Then we popped in a Christmas movie… or two. I bought this Friday and we’ve already watched three of the movies. I’m betting we watch the fourth today. If Home Alone can’t cheer you up, nothing can.
Finally, around lunch time, I went out for a run. I popped a few Sharkies, chugged some water, and hit the road. Question: do Sharkies attack your teeth and not let go? I can’t chew them because of that. I just have to suck on them until they disappear. Oh well, makes ’em last longer. I ran 8 ten-minute miles around my neighborhood. I really had to push it on a few hills, though. I swear my ankles were about to snap on one of them. I’m surprised no cars didn’t stop to rescue the dazed and confused mom running around the neighborhood.
After my run, I quickly showered and got Maddux and myself all snazzy for dinner with Ryne’s family. Holy moly, is this not the funniest outfit you’ve ever seen. Thank you, Goodwill, thank you.
I even curled my hair. It’s been a while. I was hoping that it would hide my classy roots, but I think it just made them stand out even more. Ya win some, ya lose some.
Honestly, yesterday was the best day I’ve had in a while. I no longer feel like a crazy person, I’m proud of my legs for carrying me around the neighborhood, and my son looked like a total G. Perfect day if you ask me!
What about y’all? What was the best thing to happen to you yesterday? Let’s spread the Christmas cheer! 😉
