This week, I’ve been battling the cold that Maddux is finally starting to get over. The first half of the week, I worked out even though I felt sick.
Monday was lower body day! I did weighted plie squats, weighted split squats (with one leg on the weight bench), weighted crunches, and weighted Russian twists. I got in and got out. No playing around! 🙂
I brought weights in the bedroom and did biceps, triceps, shoulders, and abs while watching the Nutty Professor on Tuesday. I have to say I was really all over the place with this workout. My arms were burnin’ up after, though, so it definitely still counted!
I ran my beloved sprints on the treadmill on Wednesday. I only had time for a 30 minute run, so I wanted to make it count. I knew steady state just wasn’t gonna cut it.
I threw in the towel on Thursday, though. Sometimes you just have to full on rest to kick cold and flu-like symptoms to the curb. I knew I needed to take it easy after I almost lost my lunch while reading about the H.L. Hunley to my kids. I can deal with a headache, sore throat, and a cough. Throw in some nausea and it’s game over.
I’m still feeling pretty blah today, but I think I did the right thing by taking a little break. Hopefully I’ll wake up tomorrow totally back to normal. Cross your fingers!
It sucks that I’m not feeling that well because we are celebrating Valentine’s Day tonight! My mom is babysitting Maddux and we have reservations in another city. I don’t want to cancel! I’m sure a glass of wine will cure what ails me. 😉
