Gamecocks + Football Game Workout

Today = a great day. It was the start of Carolina football, tomorrow is Friday, and this weekend is a long one. Can we all just let out a big sigh of relief that this work week is almost over? I’m actually having a lot of fun in my classroom this year, but man, I’m still tired. I could use an extra day this weekend!
So, I said I was going to work out 2-3 times this week. I ran Monday but didn’t do anything Tuesday or Wednesday. Lame, I know. I think I’m finally starting to kick this cold, though, so things are looking up. I realize I just jinxed myself. Anyway, I felt good enough tonight to do a little game day inspired workout. Because I love cheesiness, I created myself a little game plan to follow.
How it went:
Commercials: During every commercial break, I did crunches. I varied the typed of crunches, and occasionally threw in some Russian twists, planks, etc. Basically, I randomly worked my abs. So well-planned and scientific, I know.
Completed Pass: Every single time the Gamecocks completed a pass, I completed twenty air squats. Started off easy, ended with me hating my life. I actually accidentally wished a flag during one pass. Ryne said I owed 40 squats for that.
Score: When the Gamecocks scored, I had to do burpees. One for every point on the board. I immediately regretted planning this one once the score was past zero. Barf.
I survived. Barely. Oh, and I quit sometime during the third quarter. I might have kept it up if I didn’t need to wind down for bed, but let’s be real, my body felt like I did enough squats and burpees for my first week back. Burpees are my nemesis. I’m way too uncoordinated for those things. Also, I just want to sit around and watch the end of the game now.
I seriously forgot how much I missed stupid themed workouts like this. Honestly, since I’m a child, I can be tricked into thinking something is fun when really it’s the same workout I’ve always done. Themes for the win, y’all. Maybe this whole “getting back into it” thing won’t be so bad after all.
Serious question time: who do you cheer for? I’m expecting a college team here, since that’s the only football that counts. I do live in the South, ya know.
