It was weird not going to work on a Wednesday. I really didn’t need to take today off, but I’m glad I did. A lot has taken place in the last 24 hours. Shortly before Maddux went to bed, Aubrie came over and we posed in front of our undecorated, unseasonably early Christmas tree. We’re both wearing cowboy boots, because I don’t even think they’ll let you into the Guitar Pull without ’em. It’s like a rule or something.
The Guitar Pull is a charity concert that’s held every year in Augusta. The artists perform for free, so that’s awesome. When we got to the arena, we headed to our seats to find out that they sucked. So we started thinking of how we could get closer to the action immediately. We ended up just going to a roped off area behind the stage. Sure, we’re looking at the backs of all the heads, but we were close enough to annoy them. That’s what matters. PS: find the girl dancing in this video. She was totally into it. Our seats had the best views for people watching. So fun.
After the concert, we started sneaking around into all sorts of areas that we did not have permission to be in. We are rebels. Then we headed out to the parking to “check out the tour buses”. I think that’s what we told the security guard anyway. He said absolutely not. I’m not sure what that means, so we walked over to them anyway. There was a guy going in and out of one, so naturally we asked him if we could see the inside of it. He actually said yes. Insane. There were a few rules, though. No photographs of anyone or anything, no taking anything from the bus, and no telling anyone about it. So obviously I stole a lime, took a picture, and came here to tell y’all about it. We saw a certain singer chilling out in his pajamas dancing to old school jazz, I ate about ten handfuls of cashews, and I charged my phone. Is that what it’s like to be famous?
Lesson learned, y’all: when you want to do something, JUST ASK. The worst anyone can say is no. Oh, and you have to have no fear of embarrassing yourself. That part is key, because it is a little weird to walk up to strangers like that. I guess I never really learned the whole “stranger danger” thing.
I also never learned how to treat myself when I’m sick. I shouldn’t have stayed out late when I wasn’t feeling my best, but you seriously only live once. Maddux feels the same way about life. He’s always down for an adventure. He’s quite creative, too. Chairs ain’t got nothin’ on him.
Yeah, that was this morning after he woke me up at 4:30 am. Kids are really funny like that. It’s like he knew to mess with me after being out too late. I get it, kid. I’m dumb.
He made up for it later by serenading me at PF Chang’s. He also plays a mean drum. All is right with the world when we get Chinese food.
I must not have treated myself too poorly last night, because I had the energy to work out with Ryne. Back and bi day! I swear my muscles are getting bigger. I want to post a picture, but I don’t want to feel like a d-bag. Who am I kidding, though? I also post pictures like the following one, so it probably doesn’t get much worse.
Those are stirrup workout pants. I know. It just got real 1990s up in here. I tried to jog a bit, but I wasn’t feeling it. I don’t want to push the running when I’m not totally up for it yet. The pain in my side is almost all the way gone, so I’m thinking it might be best to just wait until it actually is gone. I might be making a smart decision for once in my life. I feel very mature.
In another smart move, I’m going to go get ready for bed. I’m exhausted. I knew this feeling was coming. It was just a matter of time.
Have a great evening!
