I’ve done a pretty terrible job of blogging lately, but part of that is because Ryne canceled our internet in a blind rage. Am I the only one that thinks that you might as well live in the middle of the wilderness if you don’t have a high speed connection? I’m dyin’ here, people. I can’t even watch Netflix! I’m currently blogging from my parents’ house while Maddux chills in his recliner. <-Yes, I am just using that as an excuse to make you go see how cute that is.
So what have I been up to besides bemoaning the fact that we are currently off the grid? I actually ran! I know. Impressive, right? I was supposed to run 12 miles, but I ended up running 10. I probably would have run the entire distance if it weren’t for every single thing in the gym annoying the crap out of me. First, my treadmill just shut down two miles into my run.
[I’m gong to pretend it was because I was going too fast.] Then the lady near me ANSWERED HER PHONE and got her chat on in the cardio cinema room. Is that okay? Do people do that? I just assumed it was the same as an actual theater and that you should be punched for such things. I don’t condone violence, but I also don’t talk during movies. The thing that saved me was my headphones. I popped ’em in until she ended her clearly very important phone call. The sound quality is great and they do a great job of canceling out other noises. I ended up running ten miles total in about an hour and a half, and I didn’t get into a brawl in the gym. It was a win-win situation.
I have loved these earbuds since I received them from Koss. They are the first ones that actually stay in my ear. I think we can all agree that generic phone earbuds blow. A lot. The Koss FitSeries Fitbuds and FitClips are made especially for women, by women. Freakin’ Gold Medalist Dara Torres teamed up with Koss to create them. If they are good enough for an Olympian, they are definitely good enough for me. 😉
Both the FitBuds and FitClips come with three sizes of ear cushions to ensure a perfect fit. I popped the smallest ones on the FitBuds and they worked like a charm. They even stayed in place for my hilly 10k, which was a miracle. I’ve never not had to adjust my headphones during a race. It was blissful. Anyway, I love the FitBuds so much that I don’t think I need to use the FitClips. I thought maybe one of y’all would want them instead. I feel like having two awesome pairs of headphones all to myself would just be selfish.

PS: Last night we went to a Dirty Santa party, but I’ll recap that later. Until then, I’ll leave you with this gem.
Hope y’all have a great Sunday! I’m hoping to get some squats in later, because I seriously feel like I need to build up my strength if I want to run any faster. If that doesn’t work, I’ll buy myself some robot legs. One or the other.
