I can’t believe this week marks the beginning of my sixth week of half marathon training. I swear I just started. Hey, time flies when you’re having… run? It pains me to be so dorky. It really does. But for real, I am actually enjoying training, which is shocking to me considering I’ve always blown it off in the past. If I don’t end up crashing and burning, this might even end well on race day. Exciting stuff.
Part of any runner’s fear during training is health, right? The only time I’ve really screwed up in the past six weeks was because I was poisoned by some apples. No, really. I’m not sure I could have avoided that one, but I can work hard to treat myself well until race day.
I was recently asked if I wanted to test out the NUTRILITE® Supplement Recommender. It’s an easy-to-use scientifically-based tool that pretty much tells you how you are falling short from a supplement standpoint. 😉 It helps you know which ones might be beneficial to you personally, leaving all the guess work and confusion out.
I decided to give it a go.
The short “quiz” is pretty simple. Y’all, I know my gender and age. This might be the best I’ve ever done on a test.
This next question is priceless. Be honest, would any of you ladies check “no” there? I turn into a psychopath from all the terrible symptoms. If there is a supplement to help with that, I want it.
When I finished my quiz, I received several recommendations of products that would best fit my needs.
After reading about them, I’d have to say that I agree with my results. While I try to eat my veggies everyday, I sometimes fall short on the work days. If I’m running late, all hell breaks loose when it comes to my diet. A banana might be the only fresh produce I see until dinner, ya know? As far as the protein goes, I could probably work on that, too. I don’t eat meat, and I only eat the occasional seafood. I don’t track anything in regards to macros, but I’m almost positive I err on the side of carbs. I like that they gave me all vegetarian options as well, which was also part of the quiz. I seriously feel like they covered all the bases, ya know?
Taking this quiz was pretty eye-opening for me. I mean, I knew I was falling short a little but it was easy for me to ignore it until now. I take a multivitamin already, but the three things that were recommended for me took that in to consideration. The fact that I’m running about four or five times a week plus lifting weights means that I should be on my A-game when it comes to my eats, too. I want to actually do well come race day, and I know that good overall health is extremely important to make that happen.
Now, a chance to WIN some stuff. Always the best part of a post, am I right? One grand prize winner will be randomly selected to receive a MyPack Supplement Pack. This prize is valued at $800.00 and includes men’s and women’s pack, perfect pack, heart health, immunity health, bone health and healthy aging supplements.

Question: Do you take multiple supplements, one thing, or nothing? I take a gummy vitamin every day. I actually ran out a while back and didn’t take them for a few months. My nails started, well, basically shredding. Proof that they work? I think so.
