Well, folks, I did it. I officially entered into the world of half marathon training. On a Monday, no less. On the week of Halloween. My teacher friends will understand that last reference. Anyway, half the battle is just starting, am I right? 😉
The plan I’m following suggested that I run 2 miles at a 10:10 pace. In true rebel fashion, I ran 3 at 10:03. If my ability to follow simple directions is any indication of how I’ll fare come race day, well, then I am a recipe for disaster. That being said, I felt great. I really needed to start off on the right foot. I think I did just that. Three cheers for mental boosts!
Then I came home and ate toppings. I mean a veggie burger. I think there’s one under all that other stuff. I had the same thing last night, too, because I form addictions faster than you can… I really don’t know where I was going with that. Oh well. Pickles! A good point to make is always pickles. These were sweet and spicy, which means they are the best pickles you’ve ever tasted in your life. Aside from the fried variety, of course.
Now I’m crossing my fingers for a good night of sleep. That damn fang tooth is really throwing us for a loop. I swear Maddux has been cutting it for two weeks straight. Right now it sounds like he is sumo wrestling his stuffed animals, so things are looking bleak. I seriously hate that babies have to feel so much pain over teeth. I mean, really. So lame.
Well. I have to admit this was another truly pointless post. My bad, you guys. I was just really excited that I accomplished something today. I’m obviously talking about the burger. Night y’all!
PS: If anyone out there is training for ZOOMA Florida, I’d love to compare notes along the way. 🙂
