(You can get caught up with the first trip recap here). Saturday morning we woke up and ate breakfast in the room. Glamorous, right? Apple fritters contain the word apple, therefore they are healthy. That is totally sound reasoning.
After breakfast, we headed to the gym for an upper body workout. I’m going to go ahead and admit that I blew off cardio completely on this trip. Hey, it happens. I can almost do a pull up now. Ladies, how do you do those bad boys? My monkey arms make it hard. I have a long way to lift my chin.
Just a little sand snack. Don’t mind him.
Maddux with his grandparents. I have yet to get a picture of them all smiling. One day!
I die laughing every time I look at this picture. Maddux looks like he’s plotting something sinister. Absolutely frightening.
Omg. A horse. Somewhere around this time I snacked my way through lunch. Sea + Sunshine = Snacks. I never want to leave the beach to sit down for a “real” meal. I prefer picnic style. I’d show a picture, but it would be handfuls of things here and there plus scoops of random cheese products. It’s how I roll.
More beach pictures, because I can. Does it get any cuter than a baby at the beach? I think not.
We rinsed off in the pool after the beach. I know that they make the outdoor showers for that. I’m such a rule-breaker.
Then we took real showers and headed off to dinner. Once again, Maddux was acting a little tired. We ventured out of the resort, but stopped at the first thing that sounded good. We ended up at a pizza place called Paulie’s.
They apparently serve haphazardly placed olives there. It’s cool, though. I survived the random topping placement. Maybe the melting cheese caused small olive avalanches? Yep. That’s what I’m going with.
On a pretty unrelated note, Maddux knows how to drink out of a real straw! I flipped out when it happened and Ryne said he’s been doing it for a while. When? At their secret straw parties? How did I not know about this?
After dinner, we went back to the hotel and -surprise!- watched TV and fell asleep. Livin’ the dream, man. Livin’ the dream. 😉 I better hop in bed now, too. It’s TEN O’CLOCK! In my time, that’s practically 1 am. I went to a barre class tonight with the girls and can’t quite settle down. When I work out at night I might as well have taken an espresso IV. Can’t. calm. down. Here’s to hoping I can relax and get some sleep before another day with my sweet, angelic third graders. 😉 Night, y’all!
