Long Range Plans: 2013-2014

This week, I’ve been trying to finish up my long range plans for work. I definitely have a general idea of how the school year will go curriculum-wise, but it’s pretty tedious work trying to type it all up. While I was occasionally spacing out, I kept thinking about making LRPs for things other than the classroom. I plan out the school year, why am I not making plans for other aspects of my life for that same time period?
Without further ado, here are my Long Range Plans: The 2013-2014 Running Edition.
Local Benefit 5k (for a family member of a friend!)
Some sort of Halloween race, hopefully! Costumes? Yes, please.
Seriously begin half marathon training! I’m going to actually do it this time, I swear. If that is the only thing I accomplish all month, I will be one happy lady. I accidentally typed lazy there. Hmm. Time will tell if I decide to race this month. I was considering signing up for the Savannah Half, but I’d have to start training, like, today. Clearly I’m posting this instead. Priorities, people.
Jingle Jam 10k
March for Meals 5k at Riverbanks Zoo
Cooper River Bridge Run 10k
I would like to add that I have put almost no thought into this plan. I should be embarrassed about that, but I really and truly just want to run races that seem like fun, benefit good causes, or are run by people I admire and respect. Yes, I want to run at the zoo just because it’s the zoo. Sue me. The only other thing I really want to strive for this year is finally putting forth the effort to truly train. I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m pretty sure I’m just flat out scared I’ll fail. I need to suck it up, huh? I know I’m not super speedy, but I can do better than I have in the past. Period. No more excuses! Okay, so there will probably be a few excuses, but a lazy tiger can’t change her stripes that easily. Oh, and I find it hilarious that the picture I slapped on this post is of a 1st place medal. Hey, there is a reason I love small races. I’m back of the pack in anything bigger than about 20 people. PS: let me know if you’re running any of the same races. We can be besties, obviously.
What about y’all? What does your current long range plan look like? This could be running, lifting, or life in general. Share something you’re looking forward to! Bragging about cool stuff is half the fun, amIright?
Oh, and I think I’m about to lift some weights. Pray for me. My arms need all the help they can get. I gotta negate the gelato I ate earlier. Kidding. Gelato is guilt-free if you didn’t know.
