The following post and giveaway are sponsored by Kohl’s.
Happy Tuesday! It’s been a while since I’ve checked in twice in one week, but what can I say? I’m feeling extra productive right now. I’m totally kidding, by the way. I just had a few minutes to pop in, so I decided to use it wisely.
Let’s talk motivation. It’s no secret that I can lack it from time to time. And by that I mean, like, weekly. One thing that always works? New gear. Call me a consumer. Call me a sucker. But call me motivated. Recently, Kohl’s reached out and asked if I would like to hit up the store for a little fitness-based shopping spree. I immediately said yes for three reasons:
1.) they have insanely cute and affordable workout clothes,
2.) they sell this t-shirt,
and 3.) they have just as much gear as they do apparel. I shop at Kohl’s pretty regularly, but I had never made the time to check out just how many of my workout needs could be met there. For instance, I had no idea they sold fitness watches. And, yeah, it’s pretty lame under my rock, y’all. Don’t worry, though, I’ve seen the light. <-Literally. The backlight on my new Casio running watch is fantastic.
I’ve already taken my watch for a few test-runs, and I have to say that I love the simplicity of it. For the most part, I run routes that I know the distance of. What I really mean is that I don’t have a ton of “free time” for running, so it’s the neighborhood or nothing. I don’t need a ton of bells and whistles. I’ve been running with my phone for a while now, but I love having something on my wrist again. No almost tossing my phone straight into the street (hello, butterfingers) and no being tempted to respond to every single text or notification. And when I run with the stroller, being “handsfree” is essential. I mean, you do have to hold on to that thing…
Okay, back to the watch. I have the Illuminator Tough Solar Digital 120-Lap Chronograph. The function that I use the most is the basic lap function. I typically run a two, three, or four mile loop in my neighborhood. When I hit certain houses, I know exactly how far I’ve gone. I hit the button to keep track and keep on trucking. I can see my pace during the run and I get a more detailed look at the end. Sometimes simple is better, am I right? I still get all the motivation and information I need, without spending a fortune on a watch with more features than I can even understand. Oh, and I don’t have to charge this one. Or wait twenty minutes for a satellite signal that may or may not go out when I run under a single tree. WIN.
Now for the fun part: a giveaway! One reader will win a Casio Illuminator Tough Solar watch. The giveaway will end on 7/1/2015 at midnight. Enter via the Rafflecopter below:
