I’m knocking on wood as I type this, but I’m pretty sure I’m almost 100% over the whole hand, foot, and mouth thing. It’s still as embarrassing to type those words, though. Hi, my name is Presley and I had a toddler’s disease. Friday I felt like death, but I think it was the plague’s send off party. As it’s final act, it made me nauseous and achy all night. I started feeling better Saturday night and today I feel pretty much back to normal. Woo hoo! The doctor said it’s usually one of those things that you get once in your life and that’s it. He better be right.
So, once again, thanks for bearing with me as I do nothing with my life. Isn’t that how it always goes, though? Somehow “you guys, I’m totally back on track” always turns right into “wow, I’ve done absolutely nothing for a week”. I feel like life wants me to look like a jackass 90% of the time.
I did actually have a good time this weekend, though. I swear I don’t sit around complaining all the time, even though I’m sure that’s what it seems like. Well, I mean, maybe I do. But I do other things, too. Like eat friend pickles, drink beer, and refuse to wear orange. That’s basically my weekend in a nutshell.
Oh, and I took a few pictures, of course. The first thing we did in Clemson was stop to eat at 356. We posed while we waited. He is getting cuter by the day, I swear.
One more because the hat kills me. He puts it on himself like this. So much swag in such a little body.
Fried pickles for lunch because pickles are vegetables.
His hair is getting long and I refuse to get it cut. He’s pretty glamorous.
Just a kid with his Cramps. No I didn’t misspell that.
This one is a framer, for sure. Maddux freaked because I took him from my dad. It basically crushes my soul that he doesn’t love me the most.
When we got home on Sunday, we put the furniture back in the living room. I’ve been staining the tops of the tables and they’re finally done. We just started decorating the house and we’ve been here for almost two years. That’s pathetic.
Then we grilled. OMG. Best shrimp ever. I slathered one kabob with butter and garlic. The other had teriyaki and Asian seasoning from Costco. Amazing.
Then I basically downed a bottle of wine. No big deal. I was celebrating getting over a sore throat, okay? It was necessary. Watching episodes of New Girl on Netflix was the icing on the cake. Oh, Schmidt.
Tonight I have big plans to hang some canvases, put some things away in the attic, and maybe clean our bathroom. Yeah. It just got real. Fun’s over guys. Ryne and I have decided to start working out again tomorrow. We want to make sure that the plague has officially left our body before we push it too much. It has seriously been sneaking back up on us randomly the whole time. Not cool. Anyway, I’ll see y’all tomorrow and let you know what we do.
PS: I’m still looking for a race to run in October if you know of any.
