I wasn’t even going to post a six-month update, because well… there isn’t much to say. On top of that, I’m like a week and a half behind schedule on posting it. Oops. However, for whatever reason, I’ve decided to share it anyway. My brain is a fantastic little mess, isn’t it?
I’ve had a lot going on in my personal life lately, and I can’t say that all of the recent happenings haven’t left me a little worn out. My brain, heart, and body have taken a pretty big hit this month. Anyway, enough of the excuses. Let’s just look at the stats, because the numbers don’t really care that I’ve been a big ol’ ball of emotions this month, now do they?
That is a whole bunch of “nones”, huh? Rather than let it depress me, I’ve decided to let it motivate me. It’s all about perspective, right?
I’ve also decided that I need more ways to measure my “success” throughout the rest of this first postpartum year. I mean, my weight and inches can only go so low before I start to resemble a character in Les Miserables. Totally joking, but I do feel like I need to complete some sort of fitness test in addition to just tracking myself through photos and measurements. I know a lot of people have completed different tests for different programs (like Tina’s Best Body Bootcamp). That’s where I need your help. Hook me up with your favorite overall fitness test. I really need one to track my progress each month, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Did I mention how much I love you guys? 😉
I think having a less superficial way to track my long-term fitness will be much more fulfilling. I’ll actually have real, positive goals when it comes to my postpartum comeback. Yeah, I went there. Comeback. Like I was some Victoria’s Secret Angel or Olympic athlete before, haha. You get what I’m saying, though, right? Anyway, I’m feeling stronger and a teeny bit faster lately, so I think it will be fun to have proof of these little improvements along the way.
Past Post-Baby Updates
My other goal, besides finding a fun fitness test, for this month is to do something with my ridiculous hair. Oy. I can barely look at myself in pictures anymore! Truly frightening.
Hope y’all are having a fantastic Monday! I’m having some baby drama, but other than that it’s going rather smoothly. Tomorrow is my first full day back at work since before Christmas. Eek!
