Update: Congrats to TRISH & JENN for winning the entries. Good luck at the race! 🙂
Look, y’all, I still exist! But, seriously, it’s been a little while since I last checked in. The biggest thing I’ve learned from taking time off from blogging is that I am putting slightly more effort into other areas of my life. Namely running. While I still haven’t gotten back into a totally consistent routine, I’ve been making progress with my speed again. Always motivating to see some improvement, right?
Before I took a break from running, I was working on running just to run. So no tracking of distance, speed, etc. Well, the other day I wanted to just see where I stood for kind of a “starting back up” experiment. I really just wanted a baseline so I could track things in the future if I wanted to, and I was blown away. I did three mile-long sprints and tracked my pace for each one. They were shockingly fast. For me, of course. I mean, I didn’t wake up in Usain Bolt’s body or anything. But still. I’m pleasantly surprised with myself, which is just more of a push to keep going. My new goal is a 5k PR sometime this spring. Even if it doesn’t happen, at least it’s motivation to push myself a little bit.
While we are on the topic of running and motivation, I received an email recently asking if I would be interested in signing up for a Warrior Dash in Atlanta, GA with a team of my choosing. I was stoked. I’d been looking for a fun running event to take part in with some friends and it sounded absolutely perfect. And then I saw the dates and realized it wouldn’t actually work out for us. Talk about bummed. After regretfully passing up the opportunity, I got to speak further with Rockin’ Refuel to learn about their products.
Rockin’ Refuel is a high quality, natural protein beverage that tastes great because it’s made with real milk. No funky stuff. With options for both muscle recovery and muscle building, they have everything you need to support an active lifestyle for any level athlete. While we were chatting, they asked if I’d like to give away two entries to the race. DUH. If I can’t take part and have a blast, I definitely want to help someone else do just that.
Two lucky people will win entries to Rockin’ Refuel Warrior Dash Atlanta. To enter, comment below and let me know if you’re new to obstacle races (like me!) or if you’re an old pro. For an additional entry, tweet “I want to run the #WarriorDash with @RockinRefuel! http://wp.me/p2ok3H-38O #RockinWarrior” (or anything, really, as long as it has the link, y’all) and comment letting me know that you did. The winners will be announced April 3rd. Good luck!
