It’s the weekend! So far we’ve gone to a movie, bought yet another new train, and played at the bounce house place. You can tell who runs the show around here. We’ll work on that later.
Yesterday we also celebrated the big 1-5. As in weeks. I guess that means it’s time for another pregnancy update. I’m doing them in three week increments this time, because 1.) who really cares? and 2.) all the weeks seem to blur together this time around anyway. This one covers weeks 13, 14, & 15. It’s flying by, I swear. Oh, and excuse me for not smiling in the following photo. I’m wearing my super sweet new retainers today. So hawt right now.
What’s baby up to? According to BabyCenter, the”baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She’s busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she’s likely to move away from the beam. There’s not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds.” Time to bust out the flashlight and start annoying my child!
Weeks: 15 weeks yesterday!
Total Weight Gain: I’m up about 8 pounds, which is less than I feel like I gained. I swear in my mind I’m already waddling around. Maybe just because I know it’s coming in the near future. Something to look forward to? 😉
Fitness: I feel so much better this week. I mentioned Wednesday that I’m up for more activity lately and it’s been amazing. Granted, some of it is just sloooow walks around the neighborhood in the heat. I’ll take it however I can get it at this point.
Symptoms: Headaches, headaches, headaches. Did I mention headaches? I can’t really pinpoint the cause but I’m going to go with hormones. It’s always the daggum hormones.
Sleep: It’s not too terrible currently. I’m still getting up at least once every night, but it could be worse. Note to self: stop chugging ice water before bed.
Cravings: At this point, it would be safer to say what I’m not craving. Everything sounds good again. I was on a baked potato kick for a while, but now I just want literally anything I see. I’m on that see-food diet. In related news, I can drink hot coffee again! It’s like Christmas came early this year, guys.
Maternity Clothes: I’m pretty much entirely in maternity clothing at this point. I can still get away with my regular shirts as long as they are loose, but that’s about it. I can no longer squeeze myself into my non-maternity workout leggings, which sucks. I have one pair of maternity leggings, so I should probably grab a few more soon. Let me know if there is a great brand for that!
Baby Items Bought/Received: Yeah, still nothing. I’m researching video monitors and double strollers, but other than that we are hoping to re-use a lot of stuff from before. Shout out to all my frugal people.
Goals: I have a few: continue moving a little every day, get the nursery semi-prepared, and convince my child that having a sibling is going to totally rock. I’m hoping to achieve at least one of those.
Worries: I think right now my biggest worry is just general wellness. I’m going 6 weeks between my last OB appointment and the next one, so it feels like a really long time to think about the unknown. We just have to trust everything is going well!
Best Moment: Maddux asks to kiss my belly before bed every night now. I have to be honest, though. He definitely has his motives. The kid knows it prolongs the time he has before bedtime and he also gets to make gross noises on my stomach which cracks him up. His potty humor is out of control lately. I don’t even know what to do about it. So while I know he isn’t just being a sweet little angel, I’m going to pretend he is. Sibling love, y’all.
