Once again, I totally lost track of time. I’m pretty sure it has been a week or longer since I’ve been on here.
So, what’s baby up to? “Your baby’s growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at about 1 1/3 pounds. Since he’s almost a foot long (about the size of an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he’ll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop.” Hmm. So can he taste what I’m eating? Like, does he love cheese as much as me? I need to know these things.
Weeks: 24 Weeks (and about three days, today!)
Total Weight Gain: I think I’ve gained about 19 pounds so far, but I feel like I’ve gained about a million. I swear the extra weight randomly hits you like a ton of bricks.
Fitness: Um, about that. I haven’t worked out in a while. I’ve been up and on my feet a lot lately, but I haven’t done anything that resembles an actual workout.
Symptoms: Lower. Back. Pain. That’s about it. Emphasis on that phrase because it is driving me nuts.
Sleep: I get up about once a night, but I can’t complain. It hasn’t been too bad at all.
Cravings: I sound like a broken record at this point, but there is nothing off limits. I want it all. I am really, really into Publix subs right now, but who doesn’t love those?
Maternity Clothes: Basically, I can’t fit in much that isn’t maternity. I’ve carried pretty low both times, so I need seriously stretchy pants. I live in leggings and I’m not ashamed.
Baby Items Bought/Received: Again, nothing new! Having a second child who is the same sex as the first helps out a ton. I’m sure if it had been different, I’d be much more prone to impulse purchases.
Goals: I am going to get moving again. We got through a busy period at work and Maddux is starting to sleep well again after a rocky patch, so it’s time. I have literally run out of excuses.
Worries: Not too much is stressing me out right now, but I also haven’t had much time to think about it. If I had to pick something, it would be that he won’t be head down. He’s got plenty of time to flip, and I hope he does!
Best Moment: Maddux definitely understands that he’s going to be a brother and it’s freaking cute. He talks about his little brother like he’s already here. “Is he tired?” and “Is he hungry?” are common questions I get. Apparently, I blame those two things on the baby a lot. Eh, it happens. I’m napping and eating for two. 😉
I’ll hopefully get back into a routine with working out and blogging sooner rather than later, but I don’t know when that will actually happen. I kind of liking being totally laid-back about it all. I just regret it every morning when it’s hard to move. Decisions, decisions.
