Well, here we are. I’m raising a full blown kid.
While his actual birthday isn’t until this weekend, I am pretty sure he’s already a total threenager. To prove this point, I’d like to grace you with his top five most-used quotes.
1.) You are drivin’ me nuts! (I blame myself for this one.)
2.) That a good idea, Mama? (It never is.)
3.) No. I said Dad. Not Mama. (Because, according to him, I am not rich or strong.)
4.) This is kind of like fun. (He is the king of almost complimenting us.)
5.) This is good for me! (In reference to anything that is most definitely not.)
In all fairness, I always laugh at these statements which undoubtedly just eggs him on. Parenting. Does anyone ever get it right?
The one thing that we definitely did right (at least in his eyes) was his birthday party.
To the adults, it was a toddler version of the Hunger Games. To the kids, it was the. best. day. ever.
He is still talking about it today, and he beams every time I tell him that his friends thought it was “so cool”. Then he tells me to leave him alone, because he’s “busy right now”. Ah, three. I might like it here. At the very least, it’s going to keep us on our toes. 😉
