Today wasn’t one of those days. I had big plans for myself, but they just didn’t really pan out.
Don’t get me wrong. I did some of that. I didn’t forget to eat or anything. When it comes to making a to-do list, it’s a great idea to add things you don’t really need to put on a list to remember. You know, some things you’ll definitely cross off no matter what. It’s an insurance plan for your ego, really.
Coffee doesn’t hurt either.
Instead of cleaning, we went to a baseball game. Solid decision. My house is a disaster, but Maddux ran around giggling for at least an hour. I captured the only moment he was still the entire time. I’m a wizard with an iPhone.
In the middle of our little adventure, I left the boys for a few minutes to run on a nearby trail. I was not prepared for that, mentally or physically. Trail runners, I salute you. Sand everywhere. Hills that made me cry. Things to trip over. Holes to fall in. I was practically in the Hunger Games.
I ended up running 3 miles in 26:14. The website said the trail was four miles, so I’m not sure how I did that. I can’t even run a simple loop correctly. One day I’ll become smart and athletic like a true Olympian. Speaking of the Olympics, did y’all watch that dramatic geography lesson last night?
I feel so uneducated every time. I hereby solemnly swear that I will know one fact about each country before the summer games. And that fact might just be that they exist.
Anyway, I better go. I have important stuff to do like rewrite my to-do list for tomorrow.
