Is is really Monday already? It can’t be. This weekend was gone in the blink of an eye! It was a good one, though, so I can’t complain too much. It was one of those weekends where nothing really excited happened, but somehow you end up missing it when it’s over.
There was breakfast to be had. Plus my first coffee since getting sick on Tuesday! I missed you. I missed you a lot.
Seriously? Love this movie. “I’m a hound dog!” And yes, we keep hand sanitizer on the mantle.
We bought our pet baby a nice, new cage. If you stick your fingers through the holes, he bits. Be careful. Honestly, though, this thing is going to save me a lot of worrying. We play in it with him, but it’s still nice to know he can’t get into the fireplace if we turn our backs for a second. Kid is fast.
Great Wraps. The wrap was decent, but the fries were phenomenal. Seasoning = crack, yes?
Costco haul. Baby clothes and wine. Clearly parent-of-the-year type purchases. They go nicely with our baby cage.
My dad made dinner Saturday. OMG. Best scallops ever. Shrimp, kale, and asparagus went nicely with the star attraction.
Then Ryne cut the cheesecake. It may look like he punched it, but I can attest that he gave it his best shot to slice it nicely. In his defense, it had warmed up a little. But really. That’s sad.
Saturday movie and wine night! We watched “Trouble with the Curve”. It was pretty good, but there were so many unrealistic aspects for what should have been a pretty realistic movie.
Good morning, wild thing! Maddux has been getting up around 5:30 ever since we all got sick. We’re going to need to work on this…
Two of the three million kiwis I got at Costco. I love that place, but dang, you have to really like a certain type of produce to buy it there. On the plus side, avocados were 6 for 4 dollars. Pretty sweet. None of them were ripe yet, though. Be patient, Presley, be patient.
As if Costco wasn’t enough for us, we headed back to the grocery store on Sunday. Maddux has a new shopping cart cover we wanted to test out. That thing was legit. Look how comfy he looks.
I made Sunday dinner. It was okay. Not the same as eating at Memaw’s, but it sufficed. We’ll be back at her place next week!
THIS STUFF STARES AT ME FROM THE FREEZER! Stop looking at me, Schwaaaan’s! I gave in. It’s amazing. It’s caramel and toffee heaven.
Speaking of Schwan’s, it’s pretty much amazing. Schwan’s delivers quality food products to your door. After a weekend where I went to the grocery store twice, I can see the benefit in this type of service.
Through FitFluential, I was sent several things to try. Schwan’s let me hop on their website and choose a few things. I couldn’t decide what to get, so I just chose the Shrimp and Broccoli Afredo Meal Kit. They also sent the Lemon Garlic Seasoned Vegetable Blend, and the Toffee Caramel Crunch Ice Cream.
I tried the Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo Meal Kit the day the shipment arrived. It was perfect timing, because Ryne and I were worn out and didn’t feel like “cooking”. It was awesome! It took no time at all to prepare. I just emptied the contents of the bag into a large pan and ten minutes later, dinner was served. I thought the portions were great, the sauce was rich and creamy, and the texture of the shrimp and broccoli was amazing. You know how frozen seafood and veggies can sometime s be rubbery? That was not the case with this. It was on point!
I haven’t tried the vegetables yet, but if they’re anything like the broccoli in the meal kit, they will be great! I think they will be perfect for a day this week when I don’t have much prep time. I love that they are pre-seasoned as well!
I don’t think I need to say much more about that ice cream, do I? COFFEE CARAMEL CRUNCH. It has huge chunks of Heath bars, thick swirls of caramel, and perfect vanilla ice cream. It is hard not to dig in every time I go in the freezer.
I am SO satisfied with Schwan’s. I will definitely be ordering from them in the future. The best part is, a specific Schwan’s delivery person brings the food. No UPS, no Fedex. It’s always the same dude, too, so no creepy strangers at your door. 😉 You can place your orders online, through the delivery person directly, or by phone. They really make it super convenient! They have great customer service, too.
I didn’t mention this, but they also have a great line called LiveSmart. The vegetable blend I received came from that line. The foods in the line have no trans fat, have minimal additives or preservatives, and are lighter in calories, sodium, and fat. They have some great choices on there, so you should definitely check them out if you need some convenient, healthy meals!
Currently, you can receive $5 off of a $25 dollar order using the code K2. That’s a great little coupon! 🙂 I just might have to use that one for myself…
*I received this product to try and review through FitFluential, but I received no other compensation. The thoughts and opinions are my own.*
Anyway, I’ve got to hurry and get ready for work. I’m running late! Whoops. See y’all later!
