And on Wednesdays, we talk about butts. But, seriously, before I had kids you never could have convinced me that I would be dealing with other people’s rear ends as much as I do. Just last night, Maddux stood up in the tub, did some sort of karate move, and ended up with a nasty bruise back there. He’s still complaining about his “boo-hiney” this morning. While I clearly can’t protect the boys from themselves, I can limit the damage I inflict on them.
Y’all, I didn’t realize exactly how many chemicals were in the baby products I used. I know. Mom fail. When it came to wipes, I thought they were all created pretty much equally. Not so, you guys. Not so. I had heard good things about a new brand that made chemical free wipes, but I hadn’t seen them in the wild yet. I finally stumbled upon them at Target. Apparently these things have become super popular because there were only four total packages left on the shelf. I grabbed these two before anyone could battle me for them.
Hudson obviously appreciated my effort. I’m not sure if he knows that WaterWipes contain only two ingredients, 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract, or if he just liked that the package was shiny. We may never know.
While wiping with “just” water might seem scary, the wipes are both durable and effective. Hudson just started eating solids, so I can attest to the power of these things. Y’all know these diapers are getting real these days. We go through a ton of wipes.
I’ve always kept a basket of changing essentials in the living room, but I feel better knowing that at least one of the items is that much safer and healthier for my boys. Yes, boys. Maddux may be out of diapers, but I still use a fair share of wipes on that kid. Four-year-olds are basically just sticky little people. Have the time I don’t even know what he’s covered in. But at least now I know I’m not adding to the mess with a ton of chemicals and fragrances. It’s safe to say that WaterWipes have found a permanent spot in our home.
