1.) I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m moving to the beach. It might not be this year, but it’s happening one day. Oh, and it definitely won’t be this year. But you get my point. The weird thing is that I absolutely will not go in the ocean past my ankles and yet beside the ocean is where I want to permanently reside. Go figure.
2.) I hate my handwriting. I’ve heard that sloppy manuscript means you’re sort of a genius or something, so I always try to remember that when I’m staring at my chicken scratch. It honestly looks like I write while holding my pencil in chopsticks. I don’t even have a real signature. That’s bad isn’t it? I feel like you aren’t an adult until you legit settle on a way to sign your name. Embarrassing.
3.) Maddux has been an absolute dream on this vacation. I feel bad that I ever get nervous about taking him places, because 90% of the time he behaves better than I do. This is our first trip without the pack-n-play and your boy slept like a champ. I’m choosing to ignore the fact that he karate chopped me repeatedly each night. I’m also ignoring the sporadic limp-noodle meltdowns he busted out when we had to go in for the night. Never happened.
4.) This is the first time that I’ve been somewhat conscious of my sugar intake while on vacation. I’m still using creamer in my coffee, and I’m definitely still eating foods that contain sugar. I’m just doing simple things like skipping ice cream after I eat thirty M&Ms. Baby steps, people. Baby steps. These things don’t happen overnight, am I right?
5.) This morning I went on another beach run. I could see myself becoming a speed demon if I lived in an area that made me want to get up early to run every day. Just kidding. I’d still be slow, but man, I would love every second of it. While I ran this morning, I stopped for things like push ups and squats, because I wanted to look as insane as possible. Excuse my closed eyes. I wasn’t yet awake.
6.) I just decided that my son will not have a smart phone until he’s, like, 32 years old. I overheard the most hilarious conversation between to “tweens” by the pool this week. “Yeah, she gets so mad at me when I don’t Snap Chat enough pictures of my face to her.” First of all, what are you sending her? Secondly, get on the selfie train already, dude. You’re late.
7. This afternoon, we are headed to Savannah for Fitbloggin! I’m meeting up with Maddy and we’ll be heading to the the festivities this evening. If you’re going to be there, PLEASE come say hi! I go one of two ways in social settings: balls to the wall excited or clam up like I’ve never been in public before. I literally never know how it’s going to go. Just know that I’m super excited to meet all of you, either way.
8. I feel like this has to end on an even number. I hope y’all are having a great Thursday. Got any random thoughts you feel like sharing? I’m all ears.
