Last night, I ran my first “week six” half-marathon training run. Three easy miles were on the agenda, but according to my treadmill I definitely broke some sort of land-speed record. 14 seconds, no big deal. I believe it was really 27:14, but I’m not one to argue. The ol’ treadmill was trying to stroke my ego a little bit. Totally worked.
After our workouts, Ryne and I got ready for bed and then Maddux got ready to not be in bed. He woke up around midnight and I had to take him into the guest bedroom and sleep with him. If you’ve ever slept with a ninja-like toddler, you know that I didn’t actually get any sleep. This morning I knew I was in for a total ponytail day. Everyone has those at work, right? I’m not talking the cute, tousled ones either. I’m talking a full on greasy, stringy, lop-sided matte of hair hanging out the back of your head. It’s a shame, really.
After work today, I thoroughly enjoyed my rest day. It worked out perfectly that today was an off day because I had all the energy of a dead snail. I don’t think that’s an actual comparison that people use, but let’s start it ’cause we’re cool like that.
Well, I better go. We’re taking turns trying to get Maddux to believe it’s bed time and I’m up next. Wish us luck! (Oh, and good luck to those of you entering the giveaways I have going on! If you haven’t entered the Road ID one, go do that now!) See y’all later. 🙂
