Today marks the first day of the Twelve Days of Christmas! For those of you that celebrate, let the countdown begin! In honor of the days leading up to the 25th, I’d like you to get up and get moving. Yep, I’m talking to YOU (okay, and trying to convince myself, too).
If you’re lacking a little motivation today, why not give a holiday-themed circuit a try? You know you’ve seen a million of them around on Pinterest, blogs, and Facebook. I’ll be honest, I usually skip over any themed workouts, because it seems like the person literally just jotted down moves as long as it fit the “theme”. Um. Lame. A lot of them have no real rhyme or reason to them, and they definitely don’t flow. Ya know, like telling you to do a million moves on a million different machines. Or having you do a move on the floor, then standing, then back on the floor, and so on. I tried to remedy the situation, because I really do think themed workouts are fun. They just need to be functional as well.
So throw on some holiday jams and get ready to sweat! The best part about this circuit is that you don’t need ANY equipment. I’ve included some awesome new-to-me (but probably old hat to you) moves like stiletto squats. I would include a video of me doing them all if I didn’t think I would look like a complete turd. Maybe once I’ve mastered the use of my “new” body. 😉 Seriously, I’m still learning how to use it again after having Maddux. Sad. But true! Oh, and yes I’m OCD and matched up the syllables to the song. Whatever, it’s not weird. Seriously, try not to sing “FIIIIIIVE QUIIIICK BUURPEEEES”. I dare you.
