Hey! I’m still alive and kickin’ over here. I just needed a few days to decompress. I needed a break (or breakdown, depending on how you look at it…). I’m so thankful for all of the comments on Thursday’s post. Y’all rock. I really hope you all don’t think I’m a total basket case. Well, I am a basket case, but it would be nice if you could pretend that I’m not. 🙂
This weekend was actually a really good one. We didn’t do much, but somehow this “boring” weekend was exactly what I needed. Even Maddux is starting to feel a little better. We’re just dealing with a nasty cough at this point, but I think it annoys him more than anything else. Here’s to hoping it clears up soon!
(Oh, and if you haven’t entered the gift card giveaway, go do it now! Sorry if that sounds bossy. I apologize.)
Back to the weekend… If nachos and a nice heiny can’t cheer you up, nothing can. Fact.
Ryne is a doll and cleaned the floors! We organized last weekend, but this weekend was all about the deep clean. Now that Maddux is completely mobile (aka licking every surface), we had to do it.
I half-assed organized my side of the closet in return. Most of my clothes are from high school or freshman year of college. I need to update the wardrobe stat. I gave away a ton of stuff last weekend, but I couldn’t part with all of my t-shirts. I have issues.
PF Chang’s Ma Po Tofu. Nuff said.
Maddux played a ton this weekend, so I think we’re on the upswing! 🙂
That being said, he woke me up at 4:30 am on Saturday morning. He went back to bed, but I’m just not used to the wake-ups anymore. A nice breakfast was in order. This plus two cups o’ joe.
I baked hard boiled eggs! And it works! It would have worked perfectly if I wasn’t an idiot. You bake them at 325 degrees for thirty minutes and then drop them into ice water for a bit. It was going smashingly until I decided to cook sweet potatoes in the lower oven at 400 degrees. Well, thirty minutes later, I had overcooked eggs and cold sweet taters. Oddly enough, they were only slightly overcooked and still delicious.
They looked even better after some doctoring up. Mexican deviled eggs for meeeeee!
Another baby shot, just cause.
I ran by a ton of scary stuff Sunday. I decided to run from my house to my Memaw and Pop Pop’s. We were eating dinner there, so I was just going to meet M and Ryne. Ryne practically begged me not to because it’s a fairly shady section of town. Whatever. I do what I want. So, off I went. Literally passed the craziest things I’ve ever seen. One house down was burning a fire in the front yard and an old lady was running around it chanting things with her arms in the air while the others looked on with the craziest facial expressions I’ve ever seen. I’m surprised I wasn’t barbequed and/or sacrificed. Ryne drove by them a little before I ran by. He said he almost went back to get me, but he didn’t want to put the baby in danger. haha.
I also ran by something out of a horror movie. Maybe I was just amped up after seeing the sacrificial fire, but I’m pretty sure there were zombies hiding in that broken down truck.
Anyway, I was finally done with the LONGEST 4.3 miles of my life. I still might run the route again, though. I’m sort of weird like that. I just want to see what else I can witness. PS: see how I was
sprinting running faster at the end? Terror makes you do silly things.
A few post-run baby snuggles were necessary after almost losing my limbs to the cannibals. Gosh, I love him. I just want to squeeze him.
That’s about it. I did a lot of cleaning and food prep. Fun times. Anyway, this morning I have a flippin sore throat and I’m blaming it on Maddux. Dang baby got me sick! I guess I can forgive him.
Hope y’all had a great weekend! Anything exciting happen?!
