Happy Monday, y’all. I spent the afternoon driving Maddux around during his nap, feeding my family leftovers, and shopping for groceries and white tights. It was exciting. Since today was less than memorable, let’s discuss this weekend. It was much, much better. I’ll keep it concise, though, so now worries.
After work, we ordered takeout. I mentioned this already, but it pizza is never a bad idea. Oh, and yes, I said takeout. Someone in the family likes to drive to pick it up. It’s not me.
I was going to work out, but then my friends showed up. They are quite the pair. How can these drinks be so different, in both taste and price, and yet be equally amazing? Some questions will never be answered.
I spent Saturday morning trying to find fun stuff for Maddux to do. We started out at the market. It wasn’t his cup of tea.
The park was a different story. Check this dude out. He doesn’t go anywhere without his sunglasses or hat. Oh, and you can’t see it, but he’s holding his “bay bawl” glove in his right hand. He even took a nap with it that day. Let’s not talk about it.
The highlight of his day, however, was the trolley spotting as we were heading to our car. I seriously didn’t think we’d get to go home. Thanks, Daniel Tiger and Trolley. Thanks.
Oh, and PS: Saturday was also a rest day. Apparently I need two days of nothing after a two-a-day workout. I’m a disaster.
My gift for Mother’s Day? Starbucks. All I asked for and all I needed.
Just kidding. I did get other “gifts”: alone time. I ran 4 miles before church without a care in the world. I didn’t even have to worry about doing the dishes that day. Score. And I guess that was gift number three.
Gift number four was supposed to be a nice Mother’s Day picture, but that didn’t really pan out.
The final gift of the day was getting to try SUP for the first time. And now I’m addicted. It was actually even more fun (and more challenging!) than I thought it would be.
More on that experience later. Right now, I’m enjoying yet another rest day. Technically yesterday was a two-a-day, so I’ll need a solid 48 hours to do nothing. In other news, I need to stop working out twice in one day, because it makes me less productive overall.
Hope your week is off to a great start!
