Happy Monday! I took today as a rest day, but what that really means is that I had a ridiculous amount of things to do aside from working out. Dishes, laundry, and meal prepping were just more important today. I don’t know about you, but those are three of the most boring yet essential tasks on the planet. Anyway, I’m finally done with everything so I’m drinking a glass of wine and watching Doc McStuffins with my toddler. I lead a thrilling life, y’all.
Let’s just ignore the rest of today’s excitement and rewind to the weekend. Ryne was out of town on a “guys’ golf trip” or something of that nature. I’m sure they had their fair share of fun, but I still think I had the better weekend. I mean, it’s not a competition or anything… but it’s totally a competition.
For starters, I got to load up on the Ruby Tuesday salad bar. I don’t care who you are, if that’s not fun then nothing is. It was my appetizer to the chocolate lava cake with ice cream. I could eat that every night.
I had to fuel up for my run on Friday night. I got five beautiful miles in by the river before I had to head home. I’m scared of the dark.
Saturday morning, Maddux and I went to Clemson with my parents. First things first: fried pickle chunks. I used to be torn between slices or spears, but chunks tops them both. Go get you some.
My dad bought a piggy bank, because he is easily suckered by toddlers. My child is now obsessed with getting “more monies”, so he should probably go get a job. I’ve got none to give.
That afternoon we headed into the game. My dad is slowly but surely converting my son into a Tiger. I just don’t even know what to do about it, y’all.
He kissed the statues arm pit about three seconds later. He gets his awkwardness from yours truly.
Sunday morning I literally had to order one of these from Bojangles. It’s supposed to be a football, but I was just blinded by that beautiful icing.
Sunday night I somehow managed to squeeze eight miles in before my legs fell off and the sun went down. It was a race against my body and time.
Post-run, late-night cereal with my best friend. Except it was only, like, eight pm and he’s technically my child. Same difference.
Well, this TV isn’t going to watch itself so I better go. Have a great night!
Question: What was your best workout of the weekend? I’m torn between my gorgeous run and the run that totally surprised me. I didn’t think I was going to manage to get 8 miles in last night, so I’m freakishly excited about it. I haven’t run longer than 5 or 6 miles in so long. I might actually be able to run that half on the 18th after all. 🙂
