Weekends need pause buttons. Really, they do. How is Monday almost over now? I swear it was just Friday night. Speaking of Friday night, I basically forced my husband to take me out. He started the whole thing, though, so it’s fair. After work, my mom called and asked if we needed a babysitter for an hour or two. I asked Ryne. He said “Sure, let’s go out!” At least, that’s what I heard. I cut him off and yelled “MARGARITAS!” What can I say? I’m easily thrilled. Then he said “No, I mean like go out to Kroger and GNC. I need a few things.” Um. That is not “going out”. So I went along with his plans and then sidetracked him with promises of queso and chips. I win!
We made it home by 9 and crashed, because we are geriatrics at this point. The next morning I received a pleasant text from a friend.
We were both 100% serious. By 10:30 I was eating shrimp cocktail at the counter in my kitchen because that’s totally normal.
Then we actually met up with Logan to eat pizza! We don’t play around when it comes to hunger pangs. PS: Logan is really jealous she wasn’t in our selfie.
After lunch, Maddux and I browsed the streets in Aiken’s Makin. I think it used to be a better arts and crafts fair. It was kind of just full of awkward “homemade” items at this point. Everybody and their mamas think they are DIY queens nowadays. All I wanted was a cute t-shirt for Maddux, but it was a no-go. I drowned myself in shrimp dip when I got home. Paula Deen, y’all.
Our friends Jake and Kayla brought it over and it was ridiculous. He thought he messed it up by adding too much sour cream. Ha. As if that’s even possible. Anyway, we watched The Game That Shall Not Be Mentioned and hung out for a while.
Sunday, Ryne and I ran together! Which means I talked his ear off the entire time. We ran 2.62 miles at a little under 9 min mile pace. It was pretty relaxing, but it was way too hot still. Fall. I’m waiting for you. Oh, and I definitely pretended the screen said 26.2.
Then we went swimming and Maddux ate the messiest popsicle ever made.
We ate Sunday dinner at my Memaw and PopPop’s while discussing my cousin’s wedding plans. She got engaged this summer while we were all in Hilton Head. After dinner, she came over to try my dress on and then I made the mistake of doing the same. I couldn’t breathe, my grandma told me not to stretch it out, and then I popped the zipper open when I laughed. Nice. I tried to recreate my bridal portrait pose but I felt like a beast instead. I will not be putting it on again for quite some time. If ever.
Today was fun. I took an allergy pill and it made the day breeeeze on by. Kidding. But I was a little out of it all day. I am such a weakling when it comes to medicine. Thank goodness today is a rest day for me. I know what you’re thinking. Aren’t all days rest days? You guys are so mean. But I’m seriously planning to hit the gym hard this week. For real this time. Like, I swear.
Hope your Monday has treated you well, too! 🙂
