This weekend I went for my first long postpartum walk, and I lived to tell the tale. We walked around the neighborhood for about an hour, and it was nice to get some fresh air.
If I’m being completely honest, though, my legs were aching the entire time and I may or may not have gotten a blister like a total wuss. That being said, I now remember how much better it feels to get moving. I’m still not going to push it, but I’m excited to test out some light workouts soon. Here’s to feeling like a human again!
In other news, I feel like I have to share what I’ve been eating nonstop lately: grilled cheeses. I heard carbs and dairy are important for breastfeeding mothers, so I’m taking that seriously. It’s my duty to eat these, okay? But, real talk, I think I have finally found my perfect grilled cheese.
It’s just mountain bread (what is that even?), American cheese, cheddar cheese, avocado slices, and a generous amount of apricot preserves. Whatever you’re doing right now, just stop and go eat this. I mean, it has a vegetable and a fruit in it. It’s basically health food.
I hope to check back in soon with some actual content, but we’ll see how that goes. Have a great Monday!
