I mentioned the other day that I’ve been trying new things and completely straying from my comfort zone. It ROCKS. I’ve already done so many new-to-me things and it’s only been a week or two. It’s crazy how much you can accomplish in a short time frame if you really put your mind to it. I’ve recently been heading into the gym for group classes, which is something I haven’t done since well before I got pregnant. I’d been to scared to get back into the gym, but I am so glad to be back in full force. Partnering up with FitFluential and Under Armour for the What’s Beautiful challenge has really got my butt in gear. I am so lucky to be a part of it! Remember, you can join in, too!
I’ve really enjoyed watching the progress of all the other participants. It’s been fun to interact with them and give and receive feedback and motivation. As my own mind and body is concerned: I am really starting to see changes in myself. The changes so far are more mental than physical, but that’s where all the fun starts. Who cares what your body looks like if you brain is full of crap, ya dig?
I’m feeling a lot more confident, but I still find myself randomly saying things like “Y’all don’t laugh at me” before class. It’s a really hard habit for me to break. I want to work on just doing things without the need to preface it with a discussion on how bad I might suck. I think the more I catch myself doing it, the more I’ll try to stop it.
So, what were the new classes? Spin, TRX, and hot yoga! I’d attempted a spin class about two years ago, but quit when the going got hard. I never really gave it a shot, so I’m claiming this was my first true time trying it.
TRX was intimidating, but I was really excited to try it because I’d never done anything like it.
Hot yoga was the one I had to give myself a mental pep talk for, though. I was terrified! I thought it would go horribly, but I ended up completely relaxed and loved every second of it.
I might do a post soon on what I thought about each class, what happened during them, and if I’m planning on doing them again. I know a lot of you have tried those classes before, but if any of y’all were scared like I was just let me know! I’d love to break down the classes for ya. I wish I had time for that tonight, but we have to pack up our entire house. I’m being totally dramatic, but we are traveling with a baby. tomorrow. That means we’ll be hauling around a ton of junk. 🙂
Hope you’re having a great Thursday. See y’all tomorrow!
