Through some miracle, I survived my first two days in Childhood Development. Let me just say, it is a huge adjustment from 3rd grade. HUGE. Thank goodness they’re so daggum cute.
Most Common 4 Year-Old Sayings:
1.) I gotta peepee!
2.) Teacher, teacher!
3.) I wanna go outside!
4.) I need you!
5.) I want my mama!
Most Random Saying:
Hold on, I gotta get this turd out!
Yeah. Kids have no freaking filter. I probably should have tried to get her to phrase that some other way, but clearly the girl was too busy for an etiquette lesson. Next time.
But seriously, I’m having a great time. It’s tiring, I feel like I’m running around like crazy, and I’ve already ruined one pair of shoes on the playground. And I’m still having fun. That says a lot. They actually half-way paid attention on the carpet this morning, so I’m calling it a win. We talked about the color red, circles, and the alphabet. That is a lot for them to take in! On the upside, they think I’m a genius. 😉
PS: Busy days call for breakfast for dinner. With coffee. ‘Cause I’m real like that.
As much as I want to pat myself on the back for making it through the first couple of days, I’m actually still really bummed about not accomplishing anything else in my life. Yesterday I crashed. Today, against the coffee odds, I feel like I’m going to do the same. I just cannot find the energy to do anything. I’m only posting right now because I have the laptop in bed with me. I know. It’s only 8 pm. I’m ashamed.
I’ll get back into a routine, right? I just honestly feel like I have absolutely no wiggle room in my schedule for cleaning and working out. Before you tell me to suck it up, can I complain for a second? 😉 Maddux is teething! He started cutting a molar sometime in the last few weeks. Apparently, it didn’t bother him. Then I bragged about that. Now it’s the worst thing he’s ever felt. Maybe the big hunk of it is breaking though? I’m not sure, I’m not a dentist. Anyway, Ryne and I woke up at 3:45 this morning to a pitiful little boy. THREE FORTY FIVE. I’d rather take thirty punches to the face, just saying. Also, it just sucks that Maddux is uncomfortable when there isn’t much we can do for him. Sad times, my friends. So yeah. I’m tired. And I want to go to bed. At the same time, I don’t want to lose too much more steam in the productivity department. It’s been weeks since I’ve had a real workout. That’s craziness! I guess a few more days can’t hurt, though, right? Just agree and I promise to be your best friend forever.
In conclusion: my job is hilarious, coffee is miracle water, and teething is the pits. The end.
