Just popping in to say that I’m a little hungry for a run. Rungry, if you will. I think it’s starting to affect things like the brain power I’m bringin’ to the table.
For example, I went to the gym twice today. I initially went to ride on the bike for a little bit in the cardio cinema. I lasted about twenty minutes before I threw in the towel. I went home with every intention of that being it for the day, but then I changed my mind. I went back and took a Bodypump Express class because, well, it sounded like fun. I swear the gym folks think I’m nuts. “HEY! Bye! Hiiiiii! See ya!” I should have randomly walked in and checked in one last time just to really screw with them.
After class, I let Logan talk me into sitting in the sauna for a while. For most people, that’s completely normal. For me, it turns into one of those scary sweat tent retreat things. I’m pretty sure I started hallucinating. I sweat way too much already to hang out in a room that’s sole purpose is to make people sweat. It’s not logical for me to do something that my body already does too much of. And yes, that means I’m a big time sweater. It’s attractive. To add insult to injury, my new perm frizzes out something fierce in the steam. I morphed into Jessie Spano but didn’t get the luxury of rubbin’ up on Zack Morris in there. PS: Saved by the Bell references are never outdated, and yes I’m still not functioning at 100% brain capacity right now. I mean, obviously.
To top it all off, I served my family pizza for dinner after we ate pizza the day before. I’m pretty sure June Cleaver would have a field day with me. Seriously, for not even having cable I sure am making a lot of TV show references right now. Which is probably why I’m discussing the oldest shows on the planet. Anyway, yeah, pizza two days in a row. When Maddux is a teenager, he will definitely appreciate this type of mothering. Gotta look on the bright side, right?
I better go before I blow you away with more of these deep, important thoughts. For what it’s worth, though, I do think I’m being decently smart about not running. Every single day, my foot feels a little bit better. Right now, it’s more of an annoying discomfort than the sharp pain it was before. I’m glad I didn’t push it. I guess we all have out intelligent moments. 😉 Hope you enjoyed your Monday! See ya on the flip side. (<- Do people still talk like that? Don’t answer that.)
